We have arrived!!

Well, we made it to Glasgow safely and have already been treated to a seemingly endless supply of food since we got on the first plane from Calgary. Kudos to British Airways. We all got varying degrees of rest on the eight hour flight to London and spent a three-hour layover in Heathrow airport before taking the last leg of the trip to Glasgow. Security was certainly thorough as we went through several different stages of passport checks and even a photo scan before getting through to the terminal connections area...

At the Glasgow airport we had an enthusiastic reception from some of the Rotary District 1230 reps - District Governor Catherine Stewart, Andy Slater, Ian McIntyre, and Jim Morton - and we felt so welcomed right away. Pictures, pictures... and then on to the hotel where we unloaded in our rooms, had a brief orientation and then filled up with more food and drink. Lamb, roast beef, chicken, pork, salads, veggies, cheesecakes, puddings.... you get the idea.

Now off to bed to get ready for cultural day number one - visiting the Lanark World Heritage Site and whatever else we might fit in.
